Open Water

The PADI Open Water course is the world's most recognised diving certification and introduces students to the world of SCUBA diving. The Open Water program takes place over three days. You will complete four training dives while venturing alongside whale sharks, turtles and a plethora of colourful fish and other creatures. This will help to enhance your understanding and appreciation of the marine environment.

Students will receive the PADI eLearning to study before having their first diving experience in the on-site swimming pool. After some dive theory and shallow water skills our students will be ready for their first ocean dive.

Your PADI Open Water diving certification will be recognised world wide for life. As a certified Open Water diver you can immediately begin the PADI Advanced Open Water course. Most of our students chose to do this. You can also fun dive with us at a dicounted rate.

The program

The course is designed to be completed over 2.5 days, with a flexible schedule to fit your travel plans.

Before You Begin – PADI eLearning

Complete the theory portion online via PADI eLearning, available in multiple languages. This allows you to focus on the fun, in-water training once you arrive.

Day 1 – Confined Water + 1 Dive

Start: 09:00 at Buddha View Dive Centre
Morning: Confined water training in our private pool
Break for lunch
Afternoon: 1 open water dive
Finish: Around 15:00

Day 2 – Skills & Dive 2

Start: 09:00
Continue confined water skills (if needed)
Afternoon: 1 open water dive
Finish: Around 15:00

Day 3 – Final Boat Dives

Start: 07:30 meet at the dive centre
Join our dive boat for your final 2 open water dives in different dive sites
Return: Around 13:00

Prerequisites

No previous diving experience is required however it does help to feel comfortable in the water before starting this course
You must be 10 years of age or older (Between the age of 10 and 14 you will receive a Junior Open Water Certification)
Students must have adequate swimming skills and be in good physical health
Any health conditions must be brought to the attention of your dive instructor prior to entering the water.
