Why is the PADI Enriched Air Diver course so highly sought after? It's because diving with enriched air nitrox provides you with more no decompression time, which is especially useful on repetitive dives. Enriched air nitrox has a higher oxygen percentage than standard compressed air, allowing divers to extend their bottom time and shorten their surface intervals. This means that divers can spend more time exploring the underwater world without worrying about decompression sickness. Additionally, enriched air nitrox can reduce fatigue and increase safety by lowering the amount of nitrogen absorbed by the body during a dive.

 

The PADI Enriched Air Diver specialty will not only teach you how to analyze the oxygen content in your tank, but also how to plan and execute enriched air dives, and properly use enriched air dive equipment. It is open to divers of all levels, from Open Water Divers to experienced professionals.

The program

The program is a theory-based course where you will learn about the following concepts: 

  • Longer no decompression limits

  • Gas analysis 

  • Dive planning 

  • Safer ascents

  • Equipment considerations 

  • Manage oxygen exposure 

  • Classroom theory sessions 

  • Certification

Prerequisites

  • Students must have their PADI (Junior) Open Water completed (or a comparable certification from a another recognised dive organisation)

  • To participate in the course you must be 12 years of age.

  • Confidence in the water and good physical health

  • Any health conditions must be highlighted to your dive instructor prior to entering the water

Price

The price for the PADI Nitrox specialty course is 5.000 THB - this doesn't include any dives. To combine the Nitrox course with one dives, the total is 6.500 THB.
